A compact new-build extension adds a flexible room to the lower maisonette in a Victorian mid-terrace property – used as a lounge, study or dining room through simple furniture relocation.  Polished stainless steel doors at the cantilevered corner allow the space to open fully, blending inside and outside spaces.  This important connection for the client is emphasised by the use of the same timber for internal and external wall cladding, and for shuttering the concrete of the garden retaining wall.
