BOWDEN STREET, KENNINGTON LONDON

This property occupies part of a former factory building in the Kennington Conservation Area. We enjoyed the challenge of the unusually-shaped corner-site, resulting in a roof extension which is a series of staggered forms clad with black VM-Zinc.

In extending and refurbishing the building as a private residence for our ecologically-conscious client, we integrated Sanyo solar panels installed by EvoEnergy onto the roof, and the top terrace overlooks a wildflower green roof – we have created a biodiversity area complete with our custom-designed birdboxes.

The materials used echo the industrial history of the building, including exposed brickwork, concrete, black mild steel and galvanised steel finishes.
